Hi,I bought my first iPad (and first Mac product) a few weeks ago, and I spent half of yesterday installing AnyFont and Unicode Pad on it (both $1.99).With AnyFont I was able to install my preferred fonts that I use in Windows - e.g., Ezra SIL for Hebrew, Galatia SIL for Greek, various Phoenician and Paleo-Hebrew fonts, Libronix Apparatus Font, etc. They all work in Pages. After you install AnyFont, copy any font to Dropbox, open it in Dropbox with AnyFont, and tap on it to install it. The new font will appear in Pages after you close and restart it.It was easy to confirm that you can install a Syriac font in Pages. I couldn't find newSyr.ttf to try it, but I did try the Unicode Syriac font Estrangelo Edessa. I was able to copy and paste part of the Peshitta in Pages in Syriac. With Unicode Pad I was able to type Hebrew consonants and vowels in Ezra SIL or any preferred font, with my custom keyboard.
You could do the same for Syriac. Turn on 'Use Extended Fonts,' go to Unicode Scripts, and find Syriac.Unicode Pad is like the Character Map in Windows, only better with regular and customizable keyboards and an editor in the same program. You can use it for any Unicode character, e.g., Hebrew accents.I hope this helps.Michel GilbertiPadiOS 7.1.1. Michael, thanks.I installed AnyFont but couldn't get it to install the Accordance fonts until I split them with.
Then I could install one at a time with AnyFont, but I could not get it to install multiple fonts at a time.I decided to try the split fonts with. I was able to place all the fonts in a Profile and install them all at once on my iPhone 5. Subsequently I used the same Profile to install them on my iPad 2.Looks like they are accessible in Pages. I guess the original problem I had was that they were in the wrong format when coming straight from the Mac OS Accordance versions.
